Outside Devon • 6-Week Kids Beginners Course : Wednesday Afternoons

Class Information

This six-week ceramics course is the perfect way for kids to explore their creativity while learning a new skill. Guided by our tutor Ella in a safe, supportive environment, they will discover how to shape, throw, and decorate their own pottery pieces.

Each week introduces a new stage of the process, from forming clay on the wheel to adding different colourful decoration techniques. By the end, your child will have a collection of their own pieces to take home.

This course is ideal for complete beginners aged 7 to 14, for those who want to explore creativity, learn practical skills, gain confidence and designed to develop patience and problem-solving!

This course will be held every Wednesday afternoon from 4pm - 6pm. All class dates for this course are set and can’t be amended. Please see our calendar for more courses.

17th September : 16:00 - 18:10

24th September: 16:00 - 18:10

1st October : 16:00 - 18:10

8th October : 16:00 - 18:10

15th October : 16:00 - 18:10

24th October : 16:00 - 18:10

All materials and firings are included in the class fee, we supply aprons but please wear clothing that you don't mind getting dirty!

Cancellations

You have 14 days from booking this course in which to cancel and receive a full refund, if you have booked last minute and there are less than 14 days before the date of the class no refund of exchange will be offered, but you can transfer the booking to a person of your choice to take your place.

Your Tutor

Ella Mee

Ella has recently graduated with a BA in Ceramics from Cardiff School of Art and Design, where she specialised in using local and found materials in glazes and functional pottery with experimental firings. While she primarily throws pots on the wheel, she has experience in hand building and figurative sculpting.

Working as a studio assistant at Kigbeare Studios in Okehampton, she had her first taste of teaching and relished seeing the therapeutic effect that clay can have. When teaching, she especially enjoys adapting to the individual’s learning style and goals, and ultimately hopes to pass on her joy and enthusiasm for clay!
