What type of ceramics class should I book?
We have beginners and intermediate classes as well as themed speciality classes for throughout the year. A beginners class is for getting to know the clay, from preparing the clay, to throwing, turning, hand building, decorating and glazing. You will have an introduction into each stage of making and you will be able to walk away with your first finished pieces after your 3rd or 4th session with us. The intermediate classes are for those who know the basics and have attended our beginners classes or another entry pottery course. Speciality classes are for all levels.
If I only attend one class will I be able to take home the pieces that I have made?
We recommend attending 3 to 4 classes to get the full experience. However if you do not live locally and are only able to join one class we will finish your pieces using our in-house clear glaze, they will be ready for pick up after three weeks or we can arrange postage for an additional cost to a UK address.
How many pieces will I be able to make in one ceramics class?
We expect you will make 1 to 3 pieces on the wheel in your first session but we encourage quality over quantity for environmental reasons. Pre-fired clay is infinitely recyclable however kiln firing is irreversible and unwanted pieces will end up in landfill.
DOGS
We ask that all dogs stay on a lead while on site and no dogs are allowed inside the cafe building.
