The Ceramics Studio

Our pottery studio in Bantham, South Devon hosts wheel throwing and hand-building classes for all levels, from complete beginners to regular makers. With four tutors bringing different skills and approaches to ceramics, we run weekly pottery courses, introduction taster classes, membership sessions, family workshops and private classes for celebrations and group get-togethers, all within a relaxed, inclusive and community-focused creative space just minutes from Bantham Beach.

Our Introduction to Throwing class is perfect for absolute beginners or for those who'd like a refresh on the wheel. This class is a fun way to experience ceramics in a no pressure, relaxed environment. During the two-hour class you’ll have a good introduction to throwing on the wheel, and learn about each stage of the process.

Our longer pottery courses are designed for people wanting to build confidence and develop their skills over time. Across wheel throwing and hand-building, courses focus on technique, creativity and consistency while giving regular access to the studio and support from our teaching team. Course numbers are always small, ranging between four and six people depending on the type of class.
