Westerman
WHATS ON
We have something very special lined up, a rare chance to see Westerman up close at Outside for an intimate solo performance.
Over the past few years Westerman has steadily built a reputation as one of the most thoughtful songwriters around. From his widely praised debut Your Hero Is Not Dead produced by Bullion to the more adventurous An Inbuilt Fault, his music has continued to evolve in surprising and beautiful ways and his sound has grown from sophisticated art-pop, into something more expansive and intimate.
His latest record A Jackal’s Wedding was written between Athens and Milan and recorded on the Greek island of Hydra with producer Marta Salogni (Björk, Gorillaz, Sampha, Bon Iver). This album sees Westerman leaning further into rich arrangements and deeper emotional terrain, with contributions from collaborators including James Krivchenia (Big Thief) and Stella Mozgawa (Warpaint).
There’s something quietly transportive about Westerman’s music, shimmering textures, subtle rhythms and songs that unfold slowly and patiently, inviting you into his world.
Support from Grace Lightman, a singer, songwriter and producer whose music blends shimmering synth-pop, psychedelic pop and art-rock into a world entirely her own. Originally from London and now based in Plymouth, Grace first emerged with her acclaimed debut album Silver Eater, a cosmic, concept-driven record exploring humanity, alienation and connection through lush production and adventurous songwriting. Alongside her own releases, she has become an active force within the South West music community as a mentor, producer and advocate for emerging artists.
