Private Ceramics Session

Our private pottery classes at Outside are designed for birthdays, celebrations, reunions, team days and group get-togethers, offering a unique hands-on ceramics experience in a relaxed and inclusive creative environment.

Whether you’re complete beginners wanting to try wheel throwing for the first time or regular makers looking to improve your skills, sessions can be tailored to suit your group and experience level. Private classes can include wheel throwing, handbuilding or a mixture of both depending on the size of your group.

We have four Shimpo pottery wheels available in the studio. For groups larger than four people, sessions will usually focus on handbuilding techniques including pinching, coiling and decorative surface work, allowing everyone to create their own unique ceramic pieces. If your group would prefer to focus on throwing, wheels can be shared, although we generally recommend handbuilding for groups of six or more.

Private class bookings include all materials and tuition. We charge an additional £5 per item for glazing and firing, payable after the session. Finished pieces are usually ready for collection within 8 weeks.

Cancellations

You have 14 days from booking this class in which to cancel and receive a full refund or re-schedule, if you have booked last minute and there are less than 14 days before the date of the class no refund of exchange will be offered, but you can transfer the booking to a person of your choice to take your place.
