Class Information

A Summer special! An introduction to hand-building, over four classes Fran will teach you coiling, slab building and pinching methods as well as different decorating and glazing techniques.

Most people think of the pottery wheel as the tool to make ceramics but there is so much more to explore!

Hand building encompasses three main methods, pinching, coiling and slab building, with these three you can make nearly anything out of clay. Over four classes you will learn each of these methods as well as different surface decoration techniques using colourful slips and simple glazes.

This course is suitable for all abilities, ideal for complete beginners as well potters that are just getting started and would like to improve their skills.

This course will be held every Wednesday afternoon from 4pm to 6pm. All class dates are set and can’t be amended/swapped.

Class Dates & Times:

28th June : 16:00-18:00

5th July : 16:00-18:00

12th July : 16:00-18:00

19th July : 16:00-18:00

All materials and firings are included in the course fee, we supply aprons but please wear clothing that you don't mind getting dirty! This course is suitable for ages 14+ and is for a small group of six people. We will let you know with as much notice in advance of any changes to the date or time of any of the classes.

Cancellations

You have 14 days from booking this course in which to cancel and receive a full refund, if you have booked last minute and there are less than 14 days before the date of the class no refund of exchange will be offered, but you can transfer the booking to a person of your choice to take your place.
